I am not able to decide which one i should buy.. I have Nikon D7200. I have tried pics with nikon 35mm 1.8 DX for Street and Portrait but results dont come sharp as i expected, Landscape is good with this. so I am not able to decide... should i go with Sigma 35mm 1.4 HSM ART or need to continue with Nikon 35mm 1.8 DX
I have got the same combination as the one you used. If I had to make the same choise as you I would go for the Sigma. It gives you the opportunity to work in real bad light conditions. And still make fantastic shot. See the work of Alessandro Bergamini. He uses this high quality (and more expensive) Sigma lens to.
I don't think the difference is worth the cost. !.8 vs 1.4 is not as big a deal as the price suggests. If I were you I would see if I could borrow another 35mm 1.8 dx, because i have one on a d7200 and it's very sharp
It is an excellent lens, and you get 1.4. Also check out the samples here on Juza and see their character.
