Pros: crisp, zoom that doesn't extend, price, versatile great for stabilized videos

Cons: af not very precise, flare, despite 2.8 a little dark

Opinion: I bought this new goal, from a foreign site, paying it only 115 euros in 2013. I replaced it at 18-55 nikon on a d3200 and then on a 7200 instead of the 18-105 released as standard by reselling them. I have to say that compared to the optics, low range nikon, this is much higher and surprised me in terms of construction quality (very robust, well done and seems to have a much higher quality goal) and in terms of price. I used the lens 7 years ago and then resell it a few days ago (I resold it at the same purchase price), it was a worthy companion, and it is still as new! I would like to start by pointing out that I had the most up-to-date version, all in smooth plastic and rubber and not the one with that velvet-like one that comes out shiny black. Since the zoom does not extend, it is possible to make nice macros (without shadows) very close, the colors are (in my opinion) a little cold, in the backlight it has little resistance to flares and suffers a little aberration but overall solvable in PP. Indoors it is perfect, for parties, almost without ever using flash. Sometimes I encountered problems with the not very precise AF, especially on the 7200, very rarely did not really focus returning an error (maybe it was also due to the firmware of the machine). Overall excellent goal, I sold it only to take an intermediate, more versatile lens (sigma 17-70) since it only reaches 50mm and I prefer not to change continuously.

Pros: Cost, lightness, stabilization, sharpness at the center

Cons: On the bad sidelines

Opinion: For What it costs used, it is absolutely not terrible. Too Bad the defects on the sidelines, with evident blur (especially at the top left) that do not improve much when the focal and closing of the diaphragm change. Chromatic Aberrations present at the edges at the focal court, however easily correctable in post production. Excellent stabilization, AF is not lightning but, personally, it is not a problem. Great sharpness in the middle.

Pros: cost, robustness, the body that does not stretch, 2.8 to 18mm, stabilizer

Cons: 2.8 not fixed, soft to 18mm, flare, 4.5 to 50mm

Opinion: I traded a 40ino with this lens and I must say that I was surprised. I have found over the aspettative.rn First for the OS that stabilizes well (arrival 1/10 and 1/20 to 18 to 50mm much better than the Tamron VC 17, 50), the sharpness is decent after all, I thought it was of much worse than the Tamron 17 50 smooth but this sigma not doing too bad. I would say better than the Tamron 50mm (but not with 4.5 you can use it for portraits) and worse than the Tamron 18mm. I think to keep it a little bit more for the price, I have a canon 5oD and combined with sigma 18 50 is not that I walk around with a big investment so the reflex port always with me without fears various, fears I had until a few time ago when I used cameras and lenses more expensive.

Pros: Good construction, excellent stability, sharpness, HSM fast, smooth, quiet, light.

Cons: 2.8 not steady, dim or bright only in the right place, little resistance to flare, but in some ways can be helpful, not very resistant to wear, short throw, the value of "50", is perhaps a little bit.

Opinion: I purchased this light recently to have a wide-angle focal to use at parties, is a goal which is very convenient, fast in focus, very good sharpness, it was a constant 2.8 at all focal lengths would be great for those who want an optical stable, fast and with a sharp focus not exaggerated and often uses the flash can be very useful, has made a pretty good when properly exposed, it always use for my portraits strobisti, the thick is a little tantrum with the focus, but the focus and stabilization is still great! the only flaw is that you wear easily and requires care and attention too, especially for the dust and dirt, right now I would change only with a 17-55 or a 10-22! ; D

Pros: Lightness, sharpness, design features, reliability

Cons: Not sealed, not very bright.

Opinion: E 'I use to the convenience it offers. If you expose carefully is delicious, mount a stabilizer 4-stops that allows at least very good shots, diffile encountering any errors. Pleasant to the touch and offers greater security of the "plasticotto" Canon, which I have released almost immediately (it was not even bad ... but the material ... gosh ...)
