Pros: Size of machine and optics, stabilizer.

Cons: Everything else

Opinion: I had an E-PL8 for a couple of weeks. Having read such positive but not recent reviews I wanted to write mine for those who are thinking of buying a Pen. I bought it used, attracted by the size of compact with pancake 14-42 (it is not so compact as to keep in your pocket anyway) and the price of the used, since from the E-PL7 to the E-PL10 in terms of sensor nothing has changed. Incredibly. First of all I have to say that with poor light the stabilizer works very well but otherwise the camera would not be fully usable since in low light the lens must be used at full aperture, already closing it by one to two stops the noise rises rapidly beyond acceptable limits, e.g. with the pancake to stay below 5000 iso you can not shoot at more than 1/30 of a second, even more than 1/30 of a second, or even at less time. Chroma noise also leads to artifacts in the photos. So in low light it's only good for photographing inanimate subjects. I have no doubt that, for example, with the ob. 12-40 f2.8 there would be an improvement but the compactness and the modest figure of 700 euros would be less. Otherwise, a set of fixed objectives (f 1.7 - 1.8) would have to be used, and in this case practicality would be undermined and always at a considerable cost which would frustrate the economy. In addition, in general MAF is sometimes problematic and you can not rely on white balance automatically. But beyond everything coming to the quality of the photos ... well I wonder how an sensor does that is 10 times larger than that of a smartphone coupled to a certain kit lens but that is generally praised, take photos, believe me, completely similar to those made with a cheap smartphone of 2019 (of the cost of the 14-42 lens only). Even enlarging a lot, the photos are practically identical. Both automatically and raw with noise reduction via Olympus workspace and retouching with Lightroom. To which, by the way, having taken note of this, I wonder why, after 6 years since it came out, they have not thought in the slightest about updating the sensor at least of the last E-PL10 e.g. with backlight. At present, in my humble opinion, the Pen E-PL (but at this point I would extend it to the M43s and in particular used if you are aiming for an economic system) can only make sense for those who need to take photos with telephoto lens looking for less weight and cost than you would have with larger sensors. Obviously in broad daylight, even better in full sun.

Pros: Speed ??autofocus, sharpness and really wide adjustment possibilities (Need to get lost sometimes!), To 1600 ISO images are still very valid qualitatively, camera weight, camera size, ability to use optical vintage and not above all with 4/3 adapter ring.

Cons: For now I do not know ... perhaps battery life, but lack the viewfinder LCD fab with both physical adjustments that softwere respectable (then a dedicated viewfinder and maybe used to a human price you can also find), fixed lenses price.

Opinion: I state that I started to use it only today, having bought the body already makes time machine. This morning came the basic objective bought from a friendly writing of the site, and immediately tested ..... what to say, a real surprise positively! .... I opted for this camera only for the sake of portability and in the sense weight of the term for that size. I arose a dilemma (as I watched images taken), how come I have not noticed / realized first of the efficiency of this micro 4/3 system? ..... Maybe now I'm exaggerating, and with time this ridimensionerò My initial enthusiasm, but to instincts and first impression I must say really stunned. According to my humble opinion gives a hard time to many aps-c is that MR SLR ..... and I'm using a kit lens (14, 42). I do not guess what might come up with goals a little more "noble" as both fixed lenses that Olympus Panasonic. A big step forward!

Pros: Clarity, portability and lightness, quality and solid construction, stylish shape, low noise at high ISO. Great flexibility for the possibility to also use the optical Vintage (manually) without major problems and without vignetting, in addition to those of the 4/3 system with adapter also not original. optimum color balance. Raw excellent, but in fact even the jpeg are no different. tiltable display at any position, excellent for use when on the stand and more.

Cons: Menu too rich not immediately reachable options. The "super menu" to be activated separately. The battery is not extraordinary but it does not last even a little. Missing the viewfinder: no I miss it but sometimes the display in the sun is not visible.

Opinion: I took advantage of a few months ago of one of the (irregular) falls in the well-known international retailer and 450 euro I got the kit with pancake M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f / 3.5-5.6 EZ. I would have spent more with separate purchases in used! In terms of ease of use and the results it is giving me great satisfaction and motivation. Fun and economical use of vintage optics (for those who like myself has taken photographing having completely missed the autofocus was) but the results, optically speaking are not superlatives because in fact - confirm what was advertised - the objectives 4/3 and M4 / 3 are optimized and they make the most of the camera.

Pros: Clarity, portability, resolution at high ISO

Cons: Menu initially a little bit difficult, battery life.

Opinion: I started taking pictures with a Canon 1000D, for about two months I sold all the equipment for mirrorless pasare the world, I must say I found it very well with this camera, belonging; initially the lack of viewfinder, you can still make up by buying one dedicato.rnI colors and photo quality are outstanding, I got to test it with the 14-42 and z, and the 40-150, the building material is good and for my part I can challenge it in a satisfactory manner. Now I just have to buy the Panasonic 20mm F1.7, which views the reviews and pictures that can churn can not miss in my park optical .rnIn synthesis always carry it with me unlike reflex that often stayed at home, and I do not miss opportunities to use it.

Pros: ergonomics compactness excellent noise up to ISO 1600 also excellent lens in kit (14-42 ii r)

Cons: Battery life and menu at the beginning is a bit 'difficult

Opinion: I bought this machine with the points of a well-known supermarket and giving the difference of 249eu. and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this little camera, having a nikon d750 I must say that I do not find much difference between the two apart from the high iso and viewfinder that Olympus did not, but when I go out to take some pictures guess which one I leave home.
