Juan

Pros: Image quality, built in flash, ...

Cons: Missing 1/8000sec

Opinion: The lowest ISO is 100. The shortest shutter speed is 1/4000. This together is a limiting factor - especially for the people who like talking pictures with open aperture. The touch elements on the display do not really make sense, buttons would be a lot better - especially when you use the viewfinder and fokus manually. The camera is great for using legacy lenses. Some things could be nicer, but nothings prevents from taking great pictures.

Pros: Improved autofocus, tilting display

Cons: It lacks a small upper display as for ff, eye accommodation distance of only 19.5 mm. Even lower than that of the FF (view in the viewfinder not optimal for those who wear glasses like me)

Opinion: Brighter right lenses are missing, in particular a 16-80. The right format, for me who uses a D7500, now makes sense only to have a lighter kit, but not at the expense of quality. Nikon claims that having enlarged the bayonet allows you to get more brightness, but then why doesn't it produce brighter compact dx lenses? I would have expected to see an 18-140 f. 2.8-4.5 or a 16-50 f. 2.8-3.5, but instead nothing... At this rate, getting a good bokeh effect becomes difficult,...

Pros: Small and light, but at the same time exceptional quality

Cons: for my uses, none. Thinking about it, the cost of the batteries, but it is not really a defect of the machine

Opinion: I started with photography a year and a half ago. I started from the D200, then D600 but, taking landscape photos in my travels I needed something light and manageable to tackle trekking and climbs without additional weights. The Z50 was the turning point. With its ridiculously light but extraordinarily qualitative 16-50 I solved my problem. Experts will turn up their noses, but I see a difference between mirrorless and reflex. ML shots are more digital (a misnomer, but maybe we understand each other), and since influencers and travel photographers are getting us used to shooting with this system, I feel more comfortable having results closer to the "style of the moment". being interested in landscape photography I am not interested in eye tracking, high FPS, video or other technologies. I just need to shoot in RAW, I can set aperture, time and ISO. The Z50 fulfills my needs perfectly. Another fear I had was about the EVF; actually the electronic viewfinder is good and didn't make me regret the optical viewfinder.

Pros: Ergonomics, light weight, controls, menus, tilting LCD, built-in flash, good raw quality.

Cons: Dynamic range, especially in JPG, scarcity of lens choice, autofocus sometimes slow and unresponsive.

Opinion: With the Z 18-140 it's a great match ideal on the road, and with the 16-50 it almost becomes a compact. I've tested the various Picture Controls to find the one with the best saturation-sharpness-dynamic range compromise, and it seems to me that the optimal is SD (standard). In fact, it seems to me that as far as dynamic range is concerned, my previous D7500 was better, even though it is said to have the same sensor. It easily "burns" the highlights. You gain on the one hand (weight, handling), you lose on the other (dynamic range, autofocus, which is not exactly lightning fast in every situation). In addition, you do not have an adequate choice of lenses: unless you resort to the FTZ, it is not possible to mount a very useful 18-300 or even a 100-400 of affordable price and weight. Sometimes I'm tempted to switch to Fuji.
