Pros: Small, light, quite affordable, decent bokeh quality for an ultra wide lens, good reproduction ratio, nice and sharp in the middle and most of the frame, works well against bright light and Sun

Cons: Soft edges, ridiculously small filter size, lens hood sold separately

Opinion: Well, for the price, this lens is a must-have. And it's rather unique, RF system only. I really enjoyed using it for close-ups, walkaround, landscapes, food, pets, cars, even portraits. It seems to be wider than 16mm when shot in RAW without lens corrections ON and the edge details look better when not stretched out by the lens geometry correction. Therefore it is better to keep the corrections OFF in many situations. Highly recommended!

Pros: Lightweight, good sharpness in the center from 2.8, nice colors, well made, cheap for the focal length and quiet.

Cons: Lens hood to be purchased separately.

Opinion: Quite skeptical at the time of purchase, mounted on R6, it has the same dimensions as the RF 50mm f/1.8 stm, so it creates a particularly compact whole. After taking a few test shots already on the screen of the car they didn't look bad at all, then downloaded the shots on the PC, on the monitor my skepticism was dispelled. For what it offers and for the price paid, the results are more than noteworthy. Some may say that it is the result of the on-camera correction of distortions and aberrations, but given the results and how they are achieved I have nothing to object, also because I hardly shoot in raw with ML. Purchased for light outings, it does not make me regret having left the ef/rf adapter and the Canon EF 16-35 F/4 L IS at home, certainly more performing and versatile but much heavier and bulkier. I vote a nice full 9 deserves it all.

Pros: Price, weight, size

Cons: The edges of the photos are a bit stretched both for the focal length and for the sw correction

Opinion: Or you enter the optics that a 16mm, RF mount, used under 300 euros, 180g, as big as the 50mm must be corrected via sw or better leave it alone. One buys a chihuahua and then demands that it bark like a Great Dane. It's a chihuahua, it fits in the handbag and barks like a chihuahua. We have had n discussions on this perspective. Some have shown that most of the distortion is related to the focal length and not to the sw correction. It is the ideal companion for outings, at home it returns (if left with its distortion) funny photos. Very sharp in the center even at TA. Ideal companion of the 24-105 (poor and not) and the fifty, it worthily completes the kit. For the rest, go here: https://www.juzaphoto.com/topic2.php?l=it&t=4270580

Pros: Lightweight, small, good construction takes up little space. Convenient for "light" rides. The pros end here.

Cons: Impressive distortion, as if it were a fisheye. If you open the raw "naked and raw" you are speechless, never seen such a distortion, you have to work on it to remedy it with obvious "cutouts". If it is used for photos of monuments, squares, views in cities or villages, be prepared for accommodations in not indifferent posts. I repeat, I'm talking about the raw output without automatic profile corrections. I knew it wasn't a top lens, but honestly it disappointed me a bit. It's true that I didn't expect the performance of an L series, it's true that it's a wide-angle F 2.8 that costs very little (bought Amazon offer), it's true that I'm used to the impressive performance of the Canon EF 16-35 F/4, I didn't expect that performance, but not even these results where in the end the solution is to resort to corrections via post/SW. The fact is that you frame, compose from the viewfinder of the R6mkII you see everything ok, you shoot, you download the raw file on the PC you open it and say "but I had taken this photo"?

Opinion: Convenient for light rides. Get ready to fix heavy sprains. Overall, I don't feel like giving him more than a 7. I repeat, convenient for "no commitment" outings. Let's see if with more intense use I can find the right balance and feeling. I'll try to put it on the rope and try to figure out how to make the most of it, since I bought it mainly for light Sunday outings in villages/cities/churches and monuments.

Pros: Lightweight and compact.

Cons: Switching between MF and AF must be done from the machine's menu.

Opinion: Taken for an interior job. Honestly, I was amazed. All the "problems" that plague wide-angles are corrected in camera, so you shoot and you have a raw file already cleaned, so to speak. No vignetting. Slight chromatic aberration, excellent "starry" backlight (obviously using a closed aperture). Good sharpness from 5.6 upwards (but even a subject close to f3.2-4 can be done), ideal aperture f8 up to f10, after which diffraction occurs. All this provided that you know how to shoot with a 16mm, that is, to be level with the camera avoiding converging verticals. Value for money is not beat. It is not certain that if you spend more than a thousand euros for a professional wide-angle lens you will get much more than this lens that costs under 300 €. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have fun with a wide-angle lens and have quality photos without breaking the bank.
