Pros: Simplicity of use, lightness, good colors, used price

Cons: Mediocre autofocus, little dynamic range and detail, poor yield already at 800 iso

Opinion: My first digital SLR, plastic but not too much, I have always taken great pictures without ever having too many pretensions ... It is good for outdoor portraits on sunny days, landscapes, street, urbex. It makes good colors even if unlike other canon tends slightly to cold. With 18-55 not stabilized as I had you always risked the blur also for the poor ISO seal ... which still helps to get the pulse steady :-) However, it has all the settings for the beginner and with automatic programs immediately makes excellent photos even if they tend to be slightly underexposed. Unfortunately the big gap is in the dynamic range and in the detail in general... With its 10 mpx it should be a little better... compared to the 550D, which I still own, it literally disappears... although sometimes I regret the colors of the 1000D and its truly unique "art" effect in every photo. Rating 7,5

Pros: economical, light and intuitive

Cons: quality images, plastic, no auto focus in live view, autofocus, few MP, noise already present at 400 iso, no video, no spot mode

Opinion: it was my first reflex machine body, purchased in bundle with the usual 18-55 in 2007, despite taking it around the world, North Africa, east coast of the USA, West and Eastern Carabi and Northern Europe, I took about 30 thousand shots but I never understood it and I never managed to use it completely but I always had to support another machine , thanks to the sensor with a low pixel density and not very prone to high isos, in fact already at 400 you have an annoying noise which makes it practically a paperweight in certain situations, another very annoying thing is the live view that does not have automatic focus and forces you to use manual fire, which is ignoble if you want to take a picture at a concert maybe holding the car raised in the crowd. One point in favour is the price that is low which makes it better than any tank such as the 1DS3, that is, with this you can go there in the desert without problems, make them take dust and mud water so much with what costs is considered almost disposable, it remains excellent for those who want to start

Pros: Fairly clean sensor for the time and price range, very light (even with battery grip mounted), essential, immediate ignition

Cons: apsc sensor, max iso 1600, unreliable autofocus, no video, few MPixels (10)

Opinion: In my possession since 2010, I have only been using the machine in manuals for years now .. simple and essential.. max iso stop at 1600 and in low light obliges to use lenses f/2.8 or f/2; it has no video in the car but I shot video (without audio - with audio to create and mount apart) in tethering from the PC with a program written by me in c# (the use in tethering is contemplated both with the canon program and with the free programming bees) but it is more for experiment than anything else: the video quality is insanely low for any standard of any era (it was not born for video in short); 10Mpx are few but sufficient even today (at the end of the day a 4k television is less than 10Mpixel .. ); the sensor is quite clean (for the time) and with good lenses the machine solves several details; flash sync at 1/200 but if you use a totally manual flash that uses only the central point of the hotshoe (still present - not like modern entry levels) you can push yourself to 1/250 without risking seeing the shadow of the curtain; effective white balance but better always choose it in manual and live view usable even if it consumes a lot of current; comfortable setups for picture styles (a custom for black and white I always have it in my hand .. ); autofocus is the real weak point (closer to the analog 300V than to a modern machine): in practice I use only the central point, and with lenses with opening f/2.8 or f/2 it is good to calibrate lens and machine in camera service (I had the 24-70 f/2.8 calibrated which is now reliable and after calibration it was also accurate the 28 f/1.8 but in low light the probability that the machine will focus what it wants remains) .. Now it actually feels the weight of the years a little bit in everything, but if you use it thinking about what could be done with an analog 35mm and not what you can do today with a modern digital is still enjoyable in non-specialist areas.

Pros: Simple, lightweight, lightweight files

Cons: Cheap materials

Opinion: It doesn't have the video feature, but for me it's not a flaw. It has all the functions that can be expected from an entry level, intuitive and practical. Now 10 mpx are outdated, but the files are light and easy to upload even on non-latest generation PCs. And if you learn to know her and you know how to use her she can still say hers. It's a great (and now cheap) machine to rely on to learn how to photograph.

Pros: Image quality. Weight and handling, overall dimensions. Price. Battery life. Great to start with. "Masters" limits.

Cons: Maximum Iso 1600. Noisy sensor. Autofocus. No SPOT metering. Little Silent Shutter. Slow burst. White balance.

Opinion:
