Pros: Stacked Sensor (No Blackout), AF, Burst, Physical Controls (Rings, Turrets)

Cons: A bit of ergonomics (I miss 1 cm at the bottom), display of a lower level than the rest.

Opinion: I am not a professional but a simple amateur. The Sony A1 is the first flagship I've bought in many years, mainly because of the cost but also because I never felt up to or needed such tools. I've had, over time, other Sonys. The A1 attracted me for various things. The high resolution, already had with A7RIII. The sensor stacked, tested a few days with A9II. The 22Mp aps-c mode (thanks to the 50Mp starter), the good focus that I had already appreciated on the latest Sony I had. All in one machine. Beyond this, the sight, the burst, the two turrets and the additional rings. As soon as I had it, I mounted the 100-400 on it and went to the wildlife park to see if I could use it. I was a bit in awe of it but I didn't find it difficult. There are no abstruse functions (for photographers). What it gave me back is what I expected and even something more. It's ready, it's fast, it's reliable. The turret controls, for me, are really comfortable and simple. The viewfinder is excellent. For me, the display and a bit of the ergonomics (I'm missing 1 cm at the bottom) are disappointing. I've often read discussions about the point of putting professional models in the hands of amateurs. I've also read about how much the vehicle can add to personal technical ability. With the A1 in hand, I think I can say that even a flagship can be used without shame by an amateur and that such a vehicle does not hinder, with complexity of use, but facilitates the obtaining of interesting and quality shots (in my case thanks to AF, burst, viewfinder without blackout, high resolution expendable in cropping). It remains a personal choice to devote so much money to one's passion.

Pros: Speed, files, stacked sensor.

Cons: White balance, colors a little' dull, signal to noise ratio well but not very well, autofocus still quite uncertain.

Opinion: As you can see,, for me and' not 'taken the spark with this machine for various reasons that I list below: N1 you have to underexpose a lot to save the whites N2 colors do not make me crazy N3 the white balance is not really the maximum N4 the autofocus system really disappointed me, especially in the pursuit of the eye in my opinion still remains behind,, I tried different settings but cmq still are not there. In gusts there are many shots out of focus even to the subject still in my opinion still pays the price of a sensor so dense, I 'happened so many times to have subject with backgrounds that is not sky, but other and have lost the subject or did not even focus . N5 noise still well present at high iso, it becomes a really nice problem, so very difficult to use for services such as weddings or other. N6 l ergonomics for me too small the keys well customizable unfortunately touch very easily accidentally, bringing the face closer to the viewfinder for my hands really not ergonomic. The thing that annoys me most is having to select every time which eye to choose between human bird or animal but above all on a machine from 7000 euros you can not make a non-articulated monitor. Unfortunately for me, it's not worth the amount it costs I hope Sony makes a substantial update.

Pros: Quality, Af speed, ergonomics, crazy colors, impeccable on every aspect.

Cons: Price, battery, sad monitor, high iso suffers little.

Opinion: opinion? The dream machine, nothing to say, if you are a photographer you must have it ... a monstrous AF, impressive tracking, has a rendering in the photo out of the ordinary, a science of color really embarrassing! I have tested it on several occasions from the wedding to the sporting event, lately I tested it for twelve hours in a row coveted video, and I would say an exceptional autofocus, even at long distances. In the evening it sins ... Obviously the 50 mpx are all felt ... if you want to make good videos in the evening an alpha 7sIII is for you.

Pros: well what to say the pros are deadly af , colors, file cleaning even at high iso

Cons: for me no one, initially before having it I would have thought the price, it is true it is expensive but it is worth every penny spent

Opinion: what to say a perfect machine, of sony I had practically all and for her I gave up a piece of my heart the a7rIV, it took me a while to decide but then here is that after a photo session in light not at all easy I can say to be happy with the choice made, perfect machine that works very well even in low times freezing the images perfectly, it has all the speed and perfection of the files of the a9II and the masterful detail of the a7rIV, very successful macchian, the only real flaw is that it creates an incredible dependence

Pros: AF, Resolution, FPS

Cons: Ergonomics

Opinion: I recently bought this camera and whipped it on a trip to Sardinia. The AF is really performing, but it is necessary to look at different tutorials (better the US ones), in order to understand the different possible calibrations and be able to choose (trying) those that best suit our needs and preferences. I have read many reviews where it says that "the AF of the A1 is never wrong and if the photos are not in focus it is the photographer's fault". That is not true; the system is not free from defects. Whenever the subject is not adequately contrasted, or does not occupy a significant portion of the frame, several shots are lost. Beware of using the eye option. Some birds do not allow the AF to detect the detail. Better to dedicate a button to the insertion / disarming so as not to slow down the focus. Tracking should be used, in my opinion, (and dedicating a special button), only after having the subject, even in motion, in focus. Starting the focus with the tracking activated, could in case of problems, lose the whole sequence of images. I follow the subject with the classic system; when I am sure of the capture, I press the AF Track button and magically the System continues to follow it. Once you use the "precautions" set out above, the System is monstrous. The acquired subject is not lost even in extreme situations. I took shots of the Grillai in random movement very fast and I did not have the slightest problem. The files are excellent and infinitely workable. Exceptional laying latitude. The 50 mgp make themselves felt and allow a considerable level of crop. The monitor, personally, I consider it at a high level for the shot, but not for the vision of the photos. It is not easy to understand the real result. Better to use the external monitor which, in any case, is not at the level of the non-mirrorless Canon in my possession. Ergonomics improve with the BG but remains not great. The space between the lens and the handle is too small and annoying with the use of gloves (I have small fingers!). The keys are small in size and, in the agitated phases in which some parameters need to be changed, they may cause important errors. In summary, I believe that the perfect camera does not exist. The Sony A1 represents a generational leap, the best I've ever used. Some flaws could be eliminated, but others are part of a design choice of Sony and therefore will remain where they are.
