Gitzo GHFG1 Pros: I would say everything and for those who make videos I would say even more. Cons: maybe the weight Opinion: I come from a gimbal head photoseiki TB 101, certainly a workhorse of the Italian company but has not managed to maintain marketing and assistance. I switched to another famous Italian brand of which I had little satisfaction with an overrated quality / price ratio. I have been using the Gitzo GHFG1 for a year combined with a carbon Gitzo 3530s tripod, perfect coupled to support lenses such as the Canon EF 500 f 4 IS II and the Canon RF 400 2.8 and R5 with battery grip or other. Being a gimbal head with fluid cartridge movements are slow and constant, balanced equipment is a satisfaction to use it especially when you have a precise point does not move anything. It comes with an ark swiss plate excellently executed and with a video lever that can be used both on the left and on the right, a capacity of 8 kg is declared which honestly seems very reduced compared to the capacities of other Sirui Benro heads etc., it has no briefcase or bag but I have obviated with a neoprene cover available in specialized sites. It pays a little weight but with this equipment I do not do wandering hunting. sent on June 04, 2023 |
Canon RF 400mm f/2.8 L IS USM Pros: Weight speed maneuverability Cons: As always for these lenses the high price Opinion: I have been using this lens for a few months, I had many doubts to replace my EF 500 f4 ISII that for many years has given me a lot of satisfaction. I spent an interlude of time using a canon EF 400 f4 DO II with which the spark did not go off. My only doubt for this lens were the missing 100 mm that these days always serve, but if I compare the weight and handling I am convinced immediately, I reduced the weight to a minimum using leofoto bracket (recovered from the previous lens) and folding lens coat hood by doing so you can afford to do wandering hunting even at my age. Autofocus speed certainly the fastest I've ever had, with 1.4 you don't notice any difference and with the 2x it's very fast. Quality: remarkable optical yield at 2.8 if I think that I can have an 800 mm f 5.6 using the 2x also considering the fact that the quality suffers, but I do not see all the difference that I have found in other optics. I will continue to use it in various conditions to see more strengths and weaknesses. I continue to trust mom Canon, but considering that parts of the body have already taken my kidneys I need. Surely the positive thing that the used is easily given away and this makes the difference because it sweetens the pill. sent on June 03, 2023 |
Zeiss ZE/ZF.2 Makro-Planar T* 100mm f/2 Pros: Build quality and optics with wonderful sharpness Cons: Definitely the price and the front cap worthy of a brand of tert order Opinion: I have been using this lens for 3 years now, given that I don't push macro so I step from architecture to close-ups through selective focus to full aperture and landscape. The focus ring Though metal has a remarkable precision and with a bit of habit is also used to make street on the fly. I marveled having read that using it indoors may have disappointing results, I use it with a Canon 5d MK IV and the results are also excellent at high ISO. The bokeh is its strength and in the closeups the complexion has a hue and a sharpness that I never had with other lenses. Definitely not comfortable to use (at the beginning) but then it becomes impossible not to put it in the backpack. Not being in a hurry to shoot I think it is a vision that causes addiction. sent on December 27, 2018 |
Canon EF 24-105mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Pros: Price, sharpness, lightness, stabilization and precision of fire Cons: Lens hood not provided and as always if they do pay well Opinion: I took this optics as everything do, I was thrilled immediately, I have other optics including the Canon EF 24-70mm F/4 L IS USM which causes the weight I often left at home, with the purchase of this optics I sold the 24 70 and I am not repented , just got out I bought the Canon EF 24-105mm F/4 L IS (definitely inferior). Excellent yield from 20 mm to 50 mm at full aperture I have to say that even beyond I found no flaws. Compared to the price I think this optics is really good. Having regard to the extension of the optics, the LOCK button that locks in the minimum position (24 mm) the objective. Recommended. Below in the photos taken there are many images of various kinds so I use it regularly. sent on October 30, 2018 |
Zeiss ZE/ZF.2 Planar T* 50mm f/1.4 Pros: Splendid construction, important sharpness with unique blurry, excellent construction Cons: It mirrors in merits and flaws in the reviews of the house, soft at the edges, front cap verges on the scandal like 21 2.8 and 100 macro Opinion: I bought this lens used (little, I would say nothing), I immediately got acquainted with this important ring that conveys the sense of photography, also precise at full aperture, distortion correctable fine in PS, I use it for interior photography and Architecture when the 21 2.8 is short, then when I look at the files being post I am always enthusiastic about seeing the tonalities of the colors and the sharpness that are "Zeiss". I prepare the shot often already in monochrome. For this view there is always a place in the backpack. sent on May 13, 2018 |
Rollei Compact Traveler No. 1 Carbon Pros: Compactness construction weight portability Cons: minimum height Opinion: I had some perplexity about the structure of this tripod and then the brand that recalls an important name (not really famous for tripods) left me a bit perplexed. It was not possible to find it in a physical store so bought on the net and I would have made a great choice. It opens easily and if you try not to use the thinner legs it is really stable even with important weight 5d mk IV 24/70 2.8 or fish 8/15. The head is pretty good. The weight is really important (less than 1 kg) and can be tied to the backpack and put it inside too, comfortable the canvas case, then the carbon benefit is seen on the weight, in addition to the winter pull that does not let you frost hands. A very good product sent on October 13, 2017 |
Zeiss ZE/ZF.2 Distagon T* 18mm f/3.5 Pros: Those who try these lenses is hard to get rid of it. excellent mechanics that is not easily if not in optics of this type Cons: Slight vignetting at TA easy to fix in post Opinion: I waited about six months before writing my impressions of this perspective, the photographic performance is at a high level since f4 typical Zeiss unique sharpness of focus, good lines correction, the manual focus is precise and with bright consent it becomes absolutely complicated, for me it is a return to the past and a great help for the mind. Definitely makes some effect the words "made in Japan" But we must acknowledge that the quality and always up to the old (T star) red writing reminds, in the interior excels in sharpness. Neo frequently use the lens hood is not practical to assemble and disassemble, for the lens cover could be done much better. I started to eliminate zoom as 12/24 and 17/40, I think of the 21 (the usual kidney who sacrifices) having already 50 F1.4 and 100 f 2 macros I always go out with these lenses. sent on March 07, 2017 |
Sigma 14mm f/2.8 EX Aspherical HSM Pros: build quality, light output, distortion control, Aperture 2.8 Cons: weight lens, the front little protected, can only use gelatin filter Opinion: Use this view by three years of Canon ff for more nightlife, street and in some cerimonie.Ottica discontinued perhaps a little heavy but definitely versatile, my copy is fine, some say that not everyone is the same, but I think the engraving of my optic is really excellent, more than Samyang very modern cheaper but difficult to use manual. The cap is definitely not a show but I saw also having 8-15 canon fish is definitely not better, when I have to go away with two optical port 14 and 24/70 and my bag is pronta.Il flare is often lurking just control it during the shot and easily corrected in post. rnNon I understand why sigma has abandoned the production of a 14 fixed. S can check some of my shots on the site. sent on July 04, 2015 |
Photoseiki TB-101 Pros: Great for practical fluid long optics done great Cons: bulky as all heads to barbell problems for possible repair not knowing who to turn to Opinion: I bought this second-hand head after initially using an original Swiss arch ballhead ,a gimbal of the side benro "not practical for large canvases", I also had an old Wimberley , but I believe that the Photoseiki is really the most fluid stable and easy to balance, certainly heavy, I read all the new reviews of materials and new brands , but it seems to me that the weights do not differ much from the traditional ones. The supplied bracket is also excellent. I mount my Photoseiki on stand gitzo gt3531S and use it with canon 500 4 IS II eos 1d markIV or 5d mark IV, Very satisfied sent on August 15, 2014 |
Canon EOS M Pros: Practice, acceptable cost, excellent image quality, it is not in the pocket but solida.rnOttima video function with possibility of moving fire. Cons: the absence of an external electronic viewfinder rndurata poor battery 150/200 shots. rn Opinion: I purchased this mini camera with a little 'of skepticism, the cost is not abordabilissimo with 22 mm. f x reduction and flash, I immediately changed my mind, with the 22 you can always carry around and take beautiful pictures, I wanted to attack the 70 200 f 2.8 and 300 f 2.8 taking pictures of birds, a result comparable to the splendid reflex, clearly moving the situation changes, is not very fast and I do not think it's his uso.rnPratica intuitive controls you just get used to, splendid display. sent on August 24, 2013 |
Canon EF 300mm f/2.8 L USM Pros: Sharpen blurry good use freehand. Cons: Often short (without tc) for photography naturalistica.rnProblemi for spare parts and tropicalization absent. Opinion: Considered the best super telephoto Canon as sharpness, until the advent of the next generation. I do not know if it's the best but it is certainly valid, I use it for 20 years and this is the second, I do not feel the difficulty of stabilizing because I use it often on the stand, excellent yield with 1.4 x that turns into a great 420 and in my case mounted on an EOS 1 Mark IV 540, made very good excellent blur the bracket to mount it on a tripod definitely superior to the new. rnCredo now to be one of the few to use it. sent on April 09, 2013 |
