Eravamo di ritorno da un'escursione dal m.te Sinai nel 2007 quando, arrivati al mare siamo stati investiti da un meravigliosa luna piena, che per motivi logistici ci è sfuggita come una saponetta dalle mani.
Per cui niente foto della luna piena, cosi ci accontentiamo del paesaggio circostante.
Siamo ancora lontani diverse decine di km dal nostro albergo, cosi che quando arriviamo, la luna è già altissima nel cielo.
L'indomani decidiamo di aspettare il sorgere della luna, ma non abbiamo neanche la più pallida idea da dove possa sbucare.
Mio figlio tredicenne si fa avanti affermando che, con il suo GPS ci avrebbe indicato con precisione al minuto di dove e quando sarebbe sorta.
Verso l'ora indicataci dallo strumento fervono i preparativi con treppiede e macchina foto, ma il nostro trafficare incuriosisce gli ospiti del villaggio, cosi che dopo un po di tempo siamo circondati da un capannello di persone che discutono sul successo o disfatta del nostro pronostico.
La Luna farà poi capolino nel punto esatto dell'inquadratura, ma con qualche minuto di ritardo rispetto all'ora stabilita.
Scopriremo poi valutando con attenzione la causa.
Dall'altra parte del golfo, cioè in Arabia c'è una alta catena di montagne nascoste dall'oscurità (pero percettibili a sx della foto), che hanno ritardato il sorgere del nostro satellite di tre minuti.
Avevamo fatto centro con tutto lo scetticismo dei presenti.
