Topkapi (turco Topkapi, letteralmente "Porta del Cannone"), sito sul Promontorio del Serraglio, ovvero Sarayburnu, tra il Corno d'Oro e il mar di Marmara, è il nome di una porta del Serraglio (palazzo sultanale) ottomano di Costantinopoli (oggi Istanbul), che tra il 1455 e il 1458 crebbe inglobando il sito dell'antico Palazzo imperiale bizantino che rispetto al Serraglio era peraltro di minor superficie. La costruzione palaziale era protetta come tante altre costruzioni dalle medesime destinazioni da un muro di cinta, e l'accesso era garantito da varie porte, affidate ad appositi corpi armati di guardia. Una di esse si affacciava nel punto in cui il Corno d'Oro si apre sul Mar di Marmara. Altre porte erano: La Porta della Pace , la Porta di Mezzo , la Porta della Maestà , la Porta delle Vetture e la Porta della Felicità. Per una sorta di sineddoche architettonica, in cui una parte viene a descrivere il tutto, la Porta del Cannone identificò, a partire dal XVIII secolo, tutto il Palazzo del Sultano ottomano che, in età repubblicana, è stato destinato ad area museale. Attualmente il palazzo è adibito a museo e contiene gli splendidi manufatti che formano il tesoro del sultano.

In fact I tried to keep the symmetries even though it was not easy because I had very little time to fine-tune the picture and check out the rest, also the light conditions were not optimal but the scene was pretty dark so I had to well use iso 3200 in order to minimize the risk of blur.
