Solitamente queste diatribe vengono provocate da soggetti che non hanno avuto prole e che attaccano le coppie di neo genitori nella speranza di sottrargli il pullo, o forse solo per una sorta di invidia malcelata. Quasi sempre la cosa si risolve in una interminabile serie di schiamazzi e qualche “duello” coi becchi, ma nulla più. In ogni caso il pullo, se percepisce una reale situazione di pericolo, ricorre alla tanatosi, buttandosi a terra e rimanendo immobile, fingendo di essere morto.
