con Canon EF 2.0x III, 1/1250 f/5.6, ISO 500, tripod. Centro Cicogne e Anatidi di Racconigi, Italy. Specie: Accipiter gentilis

Uno scatto di una sequenza abbastanza cruenta ... stavo fotografando l'alzavola che emerge dall'acqua quando ho staccato per un attimo l'occhio dal mirino e ho visto l'ombra del rapace calare dall'alto! Ho ripreso subito a scattare, ma ormai il momento dell'atterraggio sulla preda era andato. Il giovane astore (immagino sia un astore, ma correggetemi pure se sbaglio) aveva provato circa un'ora prima a predare un'altra alzavola ma questa gli era scappata dagli artigli dopo che l'aveva sollevata in volo ... al secondo tentativo ha voluto sincerarsi di non sbagliare più e ha messo una zampa sulla testa della malcapitata preda, tenendola sott'acqua per una decina di secondi, poi si è involato verso la vegetazione portandola via. Devo dire che mi ha piuttosto impressionato, è stata la prima volta in cui ho assisitito ad una predazione così distintamente. Foto 2 di 3

For this I chose a vertical cut to include the reflection (which unfortunately I cut, although minimally) ... to give a little 'side air ratio is 3/4 rather than the canonical 2/3.

In a few days I will post third photo of the sequence (it's certainly not to sip the post but I did not have time to breathe for now :-D), after which you will no longer bore you with this goshawk :-D.
