Questo spazio era precedentemente occupato da una camera da dormire ed un gabinetto di toeletta decorati dal pittore napoletano Francesco De Mura; nel 1837 fu abbattuto il muro divisorio tra i due ambienti per creare la nuova sala da pranzo voluta da Carlo Alberto. Alla fine dell''800 l'architetto Emilio Stramucci, direttore dei restauri, sacrificò l'assetto carloalbertino per una ricostruzione in stile neobarocco, utilizzando decori antichi recuperati nei depositi del Palazzo. Trovarono così posto sulla volta i due ovali ? Rinaldo e Armida di Daniel Seyter e Bacco e Arianna del bolognese Marcantonio Franceschini e il pannello centrale con un episodio storico. di scuola del Beaumont. Sulle pareti, tre arazzi della Manifattura Reale di Torino, su bozzetti di Claudio Francesco Beaumont, rappresentano Il giovane Annibale prende le armi e giura odio ai Romani, la Battaglia di Farsalo.I supremi onori a Cesare.
