La toponomastica attuale di Campo Bandiera e Moro è in onore dei due fratelli Attilio ed Emilio Bandiera e del loro amico Domenico Moro: ufficiali della marina austriaca aderirono di slancio alla mazziniana Giovine Italia e sospettati di tradimento dalla polizia asburgica ripararono dapprima sull'isola di Corfù e poi in Calabria unitamente ad altri patrioti; il tentativo di indurre alla rivolta la popolazione non ebbe l'esito sperato ed i tre furono condotti prigionieri a Cosenza, processati, condannati e giustiziati per mano borbonica il 25 luglio 1844 ...
