Non è del tutto vero, in realtà non è possibile saperlo per mancanza di dati e segnalazioni. Infatti, se si va indietro con gli anni (anche soltanto 10), dati e segnalazioni sui temporali diminuiscono drasticamente non permettendo confronti statistici che abbiano basi solide. Una cosa è certa, grazie al riscaldamento globale in atto, i temporali avranno sempre più "carburante" (aria calda e umida) a disposizione da sfruttare, quindi di conseguenza ci sarà più probabilità che il singolo temporale diventi più intenso del "solito", rispetto agli anni precedenti.
